Great Graphics Bake-off

This is how we declare Christmas has started in BA Graphics – the Great Graphics Bake-off!

The annual Christmas event is used as a fund raiser and a way for  our students to show off their baking prowess. An amazing array of entries from BAGCers, from vegan chocolate and a huge traditional victoria sponge, to cookies, brownies and some incredible ‘jaffa-cakes’ cakes.

The judging panel was headed by the School’s Dean, Olwen Moseley, who announced the winners of the ‘best typographic’ and ‘showstopper’ prizes.

Showstopper winners: Katherine Crean, Emily Lawrie, Amber Lloyd and Abbie-Louise Small
Best Typographic bake winners:  Katherine Crean and Emily Lawrie
Best traditional bake winner: Sam Ashton

Congratulations and thanks to all those took the time to bake!

A guided tour of Cardiff for our new BAGCers!

Our new BA Graphic Communication students (guided by lecturers David and Ian) took a trip around the sights and sounds of Cardiff City Centre and Cardiff Bay, helping orientate some of our new arrivals to what the City has to offer. A good time was had by all!

Ice breaking – by breaking eggs

On their first day on the course, BAGCers were split into group to devise a contraption that could hold an egg safely when dropped from height.  Through a process of elimination (increasingly higher heights and more throwing than dropping) one team were victorious, their egg remaining perfectly intact, no matter how hard Theo threw it down the stairs!
