Salmon watch on the River Taff

Some time soon (this blog suggests end of Oct/start of Nov) salmon can be seen leaping the weir on the River Taff as they swim upstream to spawn. It’s a really spectacular sight and only a short walk across the park to Blackweir bridge – perfect viewing platform.

If your morning route takes you past the spot, keep an eye out for activity and let us know if you spot anything.

Tell tale signs – cormorants perched on rocks nearby hoping for a big meal and salmon enthusiasts gathered on the bridge and the banks with hopeful expressions on their faces.
