Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival
This February and March Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival, in conjunction with Wales Millennium Centre and Goldmark Art, are celebrating both the 200th anniversary of the publication of Grimm’s Fairy Tales and David Hockney’s 75th birthday with an exhibition of Hockney’s celebrated etchings based on Six Tales From The Brothers Grimm.
Alongside the exhibition Beyond the Border Artistic Director David Ambrose is running a project for children in Year 5/6 using the images and his own tellings of the stories as an inspiration for the children’s own work.
Beyond the Border are seeking 2-4 visual arts students/recent graduates or emerging artists who are considering careers in arts in education to act as paid trainees on the project. The trainee will be expected to support the children as they take part in the workshop and reflect on the way the workshops are run, and how that might influence their own practice. With longer term commitments trainees may take on running part of the sessions.
· Fee: £75 per day
· Time commitment: Minimum 4 days; maximum 10 days per Trainee in the time period between Feb 20th and March 20th. Sessions are on weekdays.

· Deadline: 14th Feb – however candidates of sufficient calibre will be assigned roles on a first come first served basis, so apply early for the best opportunity.
